Las Palmas Oil & Dehydration, Inc. located in Bakersfield, California (previously Sabre Refining) owns this crude oil distillation refinery. DESIGN BASIS

 

 

  1. The Sabre Crude Unit is designed to handle 25,000 BPSD of typical San Joaquin Valley crude’s ranging from 20-34.2° API gravity.  Two design cases were used to size equipment at the 25,000 BPSD rate reflecting the extremes in this gravity range.

 

      Fractionation is provided to produce light naphtha, heavy naphtha, kerosene, diesel, atmospheric gas oil and residual fuel products.

  1. The Naphtha Stabilizer is designed to stabilize the light naphtha product (Preflash Tower Overhead) to 9# RVP (max.).

 

  1. The Crude Unit is designed to be able to reprocess 1500 BPSD of out-side off-spec naphtha in addition to and concurrent with the 10,000 BPSD crude fractionation.  Provisions are included to handle off-spec conditions either (1) for too high a vapor pressure or (2) with too high an end point.  Alternate feed locations are to the Main Fractionator for conditions (1) or to the Naphtha Stabilizer for condition (2).
